Australia offers world-ranked universities, beautiful cities and generous post-study work options. The student visa is the Subclass 500.
1. Offer and Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
After you accept your offer and pay the deposit, the university issues a CoE — you need it to apply for the visa.
2. The Genuine Student (GS) requirement
Australia assesses whether you are a genuine student. You answer questions about your study plans, your background and how the course fits your future. Honest, specific answers with supporting documents are essential.
3. OSHC, English and funds
- OSHC — Overseas Student Health Cover for your whole stay
- An accepted English test (IELTS, PTE, TOEFL and others)
- Evidence of funds for tuition, living costs and travel
4. Apply online
Lodge the application in ImmiAccount, give biometrics and complete a health check if asked.
